About this site

This website provides open, public access to a variety of documents related to the vaccine cold chain, including system designs, technical guidance, and field reports. The documents and guidance shared here were originally produced by New Horizons in the context of their work on vaccine cold chain systems and processes. Following the closure of New Horizons in December 2025, this site and its contents are now maintained by Phoenix Global Health (Phoenix GH). The goal of this site is to foster transparency, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing with global health stakeholders and technical partners. Unless otherwise labeled, material on this site is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license, which allows permissive sharing, adaptation, and use (even commercially) with appropriate attribution.

About New Horizons and Phoenix GH

New Horizons was an engineering team dedicated to addressing technical challenges in global health. New Horizons operated as a division of Global Health Labs, Inc., a 501(c)(4) nonprofit entity, through December 31, 2025. Prior to July 2020, New Horizons operated within Global Good / Intellectual Ventures.

Phoenix GH is a nonprofit engineering organization established to sustain technical capacity for reliable execution in global health. It is a Washington State nonprofit corporation and a 501(c)(3) private operating foundation. Formed in 2025 by alumni of New Horizons, Phoenix GH has expertise in a variety of engineering disciplines and is committed to improving global health outcomes through rigorous engineering proven in real-world environments.

The 2to8.cc domain name reflects the standard temperature range for safe vaccine storage (2 to 8 °C). The .cc top-level domain reflects the country code for Cocos (Keeling) Islands, an Australian territory, but it is intended here as a nod to the vaccine cold chain.
